BIG CORKSCREW ISLAND REGIONAL PARK

The Estates area does not currently have a regional park to serve the recreational needs of the area. This facility will help Parks and Recreation to continue to meet their growing needs and to provide the service the County is expected to provide.


PROJECT GOALS:

  • To provide a Regional Park for Northeast Collier County in a 49-acre Collier County property.  

PROJECT FEATURES:

  • Community Center Building with Outside Stage
  • Aquatic center with family pool, Kids pool, main pool, water slides
  • Maintenance Building
  • 2 basketball courts
  • 6 pickleball courts
  • 2 tennis courts
  • 2 concession buildings
  • 2 restroom buildings
  • Event lawn
  • 2 softball fields
  • 4 collegiate soccer fields, 2 with artificial turf
  • Playground
  • Walking trails
  • Landscaping
  • Parking spaces with connecting road
  • Picnic pavilion

COSTS AND FUNDING:

  • Total project cost is estimated at approximately $60M for Phase I and a portion of Phase II
  • Current available funding is $20M
  • Ongoing O&M will be covered by Collier County General Funds

SCHEDULE:

Design began in the first quarter of FY2017.  Anticipated Permits and Bid Documents prepared by the first quarter of FY2019.
